    Sister Susannah Out Now!

    Listen here

'Sister Susannah’ is the new single taken from Anoushka Shankar’s forthcoming release, Love Letters P.S., out on June 4th on Mercury KX. Co-written with Alev Lenz, the song also features a spoken word poem by renowned poet Nikita Gill.

Speaking about the track Anoushka says “‘Sister Susannah’ highlights the ways in which victims of abuse and domestic abuse are verbally and physically broken down by their abusers. Over the last year the world has experienced so many collective traumas, whilst many individuals have also suffered personal traumas. Victims of domestic in particular were put into the most horrendous of situations as lockdowns came into place around the world. Right now, after the tragic murder of a young woman in London and on hearing the statistic that 97% of young women have experienced sexual harassment, women are again feeling a collective sense of anger, pain and loss. I hope that Sister Susannah can add in any way to the discussions that so deeply need to be had.”
